Harry Potter Alliance * 24 Hours For Darfur

As predicted, technology and grass roots social participation converge to form a new kind of political movement, as in the case of 24hoursfordarful.org, which has been promoted by Harry Pottercasts (podcasts) from groups like The Harry Potter Alliance, among other channels. With an urgent social need in focus, the people (young, old, famous) are using the web to give their voice. The movement is also integrating social networks like Facebook and MySpace.

Description: Get your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to record their own personal video appeals, or record on-the-fly interviews from people on the streets of cities throughout North America. Everything you need to know is on our website, so check it out before you start filming.

Eligilibity: Anyone with a webcam, camcorder, or digital camera.

One Response to Harry Potter Alliance * 24 Hours For Darfur

  1. Re: 24 Hours for Darfur – I was really surprised when I was researching the topic for my own blog to see how little media coverage they’ve received. I think they can use all the help they can get from the blogoverse, and I think if people keep favouriting their YouTube video and DIGGing its entry on DIGG, that would help. Here are the links:
